Solid Foam Flotation Care Tips:
Once taken out of the box, your Float’n Thang will gradually become more flexible and soft to the touch.
Use a damp cloth to wipe away any dust or dirt.
Use Clear Gorilla Glue – waterproof
Any crease marks will work themselves out over time. Placing the flotation device in the sun or a warm spot helps the device conform to its originally desired shape. The Float’nThang loves warmth and sunshine.
CAUTION: Do not pull or force any large objects in the semi-enclosed right-arm beverage holder, as it could result in damage to the device. If it should tear or rip, there is an easy fix. Important! Once a small split should show up, apply a tiny amount of glue. Rubber gets weakened once a small breach has started. Due to the strong buoyancy of the float, it will pull on the tear and can rip with additional usage.
Simply ensure the damaged area is dry (the device will not absorb water). Apply a small amount of superglue (Gorilla Super Glue WaterProof Clear) into and around the ripped area. Hold it together for 2 minutes, and it will mend as strong as it was originally.
Prevention: To add that extra level of strength to the semi-enclosed right-arm beverage holder, simply apply a small amount of glue to the top area where the enclosure meets the holder. It will dry in under 2 minutes.
An easy fix for this flotation device
Note: Keep in mind it’s still foam. The important part is, it will not absorb water or lose buoyancy even with a tear. It’s durable and will last against the elements; however, it’s not a stretchy rubber band.
Unlike standard inflatables, the FloatnThang flotation device will never require a patch kit and will never leak. Solid Closed Cell Foam never loses buoyancy, which is its main attribute.
TIP: When floating with your favorite beverage, best to avoid open solo cups. Hate to see your beverage get diluted with pool or lake water. 😁 Midsize Tumblers work well.
For longer life of the foam, avoid storing it in cold temperatures. Best to store at a controlled room temperature. The float can withstand direct sunlight for a period of time; however, it is best to avoid long-term exposure as this may lead to the hardening of the exterior foam areas.
